Arab women politicians Randa Kassis is a Franco-Syrian politician, journalist, and anthropologist who founded the Movement for a Pluralistic Society in 2012 and has led the movement since its establishment. She was a member of the Syrian National Council (SNC) from 2011 until her expulsion in 2012 and later chaired the Coalition of Secular and Democratic Syrians, an alliance formed outside the SNC in 2011 to bring together political parties and groups opposed to the Assad regime.
